| The ORIGINAL spey feather (other than the extinct Spey Cock). If you have tied with Heron substitutes like Rhea or Blue Eared Pheasant, you will quickly notice how much better the original is. Our natural Heron is the premium feathers that have been dyed over the natural chocolate colour. The dye jobs are strong, though they are covering a darker colour in most cases. This gives the feathers a natural looking transition where the bright dye colour is very evident at the base of the plume and the colour gets darker as you move up the feather. These are the plumes you are after if you are wrapping these as traditional spey plumes. The stems are very supple and the feather quality is fantastic! The picture below shows how the smaller heron is just as beautiful as the XL Heron, These plumes are 3-4 inches long and are very comparable to Blue Eared Pheasant. |

| The heron we offer come from a bird within the Heron family that is very plentiful in its area of the world. They are not listed on the Migratory Birds Conventions Act (Canada) and are legal to purchase and posses under Canadian law. This species is also NOT listed as a protected species in the United States under The Migratory Bird Treaty Act (USA). This Heron is also not on the CITES List (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species). Under International law they are completely legal to import.
